Full Circle – Just Like Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure!

I went to the Hollywood Forever CemeteryPee Wee last night with a group of friends to see Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.   Somehow I’d never gotten around to seeing it.  Paul Rubens was there to introduce the film, which was a delightfully wacky kick-start to the madness.

I liked the movie far more than expected. I’m sure all the sangria we’d consumed didn’t hurt, but the whole film felt like a celebration – a wonderful  reminder to never be afraid follow your heart and let your life become all that it can be.  The ending (spoiler alert) felt like where I’m at right now:  Pee-Wee’s movie is made and all the people that have been a part of his journey are gathered together at the drive-in to celebrate.  They are all a part of his movie in their own unique ways.

1939_the_wizard_of_oz_002In the past couple months it feels like life has come full circle – I feel like Dorothy waking up in her own bed once more surrounded by her loved ones with whom she shares all of her adventures in Oz, explaining “…and you were there and you were there and you were there…” to each and every one.

I’ve met so many wonderful people on the fest circuit, through our films, during our travels and it’s been so heartening to see how far we have all come together.  It feels like a graduation of sorts.

In the coming months I want to highlight all of these people who have made this journey so worthwhile, so stay tuned for guest blogs from other artists who have become part of our trippin’ family.
