Cannes and Beyond!

mainI didn’t think I could be more excited about our upcoming trip to Cannes, but apparently I was wrong.  I’ve ended most evenings this week feeling like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady dancing in her nightie singing “I Could Have Danced All Night” (maybe because I did just that.)

We’ve not only made wonderful progress on the Dolores shoot (details soon), but our next feature is finally coming together and we may be shooting even sooner than I’d expected.  Meanwhile, Death’s still getting into more fests and we keep learning more exciting things about our upcoming trip to Cannes.

peeweecommandgetpreviewlibraryphotoarchiverecid1081018filenamepeewee-2Months ago, I blogged about my experience seeing PeeWee’s Big Adventure for the first time at a cemetery screening right after we’d completed trippin’ and how it truly resonated, because I felt like I, too, was at my own drive-in screening, surrounded by the wonderful characters that I’ve met along my journey these past 5 or so years, traveling the fest circuit, making movies and figuring out just where it is we’re all headed.

barbiewildeSurprisingly, Cannes is turning into a similar type reunion with fest friends I haven’t seen in years.  My writer/actress friend Barbie, whom I met at a fest in Muenster, several wonderful friends from last year’s London Independent Fest, fest buddies the Shumway brothers’ whose awesome film birthday posterEnigma’s positively on fire, and now I’ve just learned that my dear friends from Australia J and Nat, whom I met in Anchorage will be screening their amazing film Birthday in Cannes at the same time!  We will live together again!   I practically wept like a schoolgirl when J called with the news. Perhaps Disney was right about it being a small world after all.

Thanks to the wonderfully supportive friends who have been calling with congrats and advice, we truly appreciate it.  I apologize if we’re hard to get a hold of right now.  Things are a bit hectic.  But our friends and family are always on our mind.  We wouldn’t be here without you!
