Wow! This may just be our best Comic-Con ever. It’s our fourth time to screen here and, admittedly, I came with mixed feelings. It’s such a madhouse and I have so much work piling up (not to mention pending jury duty next week – d’oh!). I wasn’t sure it was the best choice to come, but that changed the moment we arrived. Despite the hundred thousand+ people, it seemed every time I turned around, I ran into an old friend. Old connections were renewed and new connections felt like old friends in an instant. Oh, right – THIS is the magic of Comic-Con. DOLORES enjoyed her best screening yet Friday night. The most enthusiastic applause erupted on the last frame of the film and Q&A was too fun. Such great response from the crowd and we had lines of folks wanting to talk to us after. People were shocked by our budget, convinced it was far higher. We promoted filmmaking in the Midwest with heartfelt pride. Read the rest of this entry »

Live from Comic-Con & Distribution!
July 24th, 2011 by Devi Snively (The Directrix)Goodbye Death, Hello New Mexico!
March 2nd, 2011 by Devi Snively (The Directrix)Congrats, to our DOLORES team – our world premiere was a grand success – we actually got cheered! I returned last week to 2 major writing deadlines and a brand spanking new semester in which I’m teaching 3(!) classes – yipes – and now I’m off to New Mexico for what I suspect might be DEATH IN CHARGE’s grand finale this weekend (with well over 100 fests now – not a bad run). I hope to finally catch up on the latest Deviant adventures upon my return – lots to tell. For Deviants in Indiana – - both DEATH and trippin’ are screening in Warsaw this coming weekend - we’ll be Skyping in for our Q&A – hope to virtually see you there!
More Fests and Opening for Kathryn Bigelow!
February 12th, 2011 by Devi Snively (The Directrix)I’ve emerged from an intensive writing sanctuary just in time. The fests are beckoning once more. I wonder if this is what it feels like to be a parent - little time for a personal life, but our children are keeping the long hours of work mighty interesting. Regardless, it looks like we’ve got 2 exciting months ahead… Read the rest of this entry »
Horror Blast in Oklahoma
December 9th, 2010 by Devi Snively (The Directrix)Talk about too much of a good thing! First, I was asked to be a judge at my beloved Dragon*Con, but alas just couldn’t afford the hefty hotel fees. We were also to screen at Horrorfind which is a super fun event as well and where I knew friends I haven’t seen in ages would be in attendance. But like Mae West, “Between two evils (or 3 and make them horror fests in this case), I always pick the one I never tried before.” And I’m glad I did. Because running concurrently was the Oklahoma Horror Fest, where I ultimately opted to go (courtesy of Delta air miles) and had a blast! Read the rest of this entry »
trippin’ & Death Traildance together!
November 29th, 2010 by Devi Snively (The Directrix)Congrats, Team! Both Death in Charge and trippin’ will screen at the Traildance Film Festival in January! I’m so bummed to have to miss this one – I’ve heard great things from numerous friends who’ve participated and we had a total blast in nearby Tulsa at the Oklahoma Horror Festival a couple months back (about which I SWEAR I’m finally gonna blog this week, but not just yet. It’s midterms and somebody has some serious grading to attend to alas.) Until then, cheerio!
