Choosing a producer is much like finding a partner with whom to raise a child I imagine. You have to share a lot of the same values and vision. Congrats, Team! Both Death in Charge and trippin’ will screen at the Traildance Film Festival in January! I’m so bummed to have to miss this one – I’ve heard great things from numerous friends who’ve participated and we had a total blast in nearby Tulsa at the Oklahoma Horror Festival a couple months back (about which I SWEAR I’m finally gonna blog this week, but not just yet. It’s midterms and somebody has some serious grading to attend to alas.) Until then, cheerio!

I got the nicest e-mail from a fest buddy last week. I wasn’t aware that he even followed our blog, but he wrote out of the blue to ask me if everything was okay, citing the lag in entries the past few months as possible cause for concern. He’d been following our adventures and was “inspired by our refreshing optimism” and “humorous candor” in recounting the “trials and tribulations of the post-post-modern-semi-struggling artist.” Wow, who knew? Brutal as Hell trippin’ Review…

I think it’s probably my life’s quest to find some way to “balance the absurd with the smart,” so imagine my joy when Brutal as Hell’s Keri O’Shea wrote a fabulous review of the Bram Stoker fest films in which she concludes that trippin’ does just that. Congrats, Team! Death in Charge has won both the audience and jury awards for best film and Marina Benedict received the best performance award at the Knoxville Horror Film Festival – Sweet!
