I’m writing from the Detroit airport here in the Delta V.I.P. lounge. Nice! Free vodka, free wi-fi and leather chair by the fireplace. I LOVE this airport. They’ve got a fun Mexican bar with awesome margaritas and a super cool Blade Runner-esque tunnel with flashing lights and music that reminds me of my NYC clubbing days.
Some day they should hang a sign here that says, “Welcome to the Detroit Airport: The Birthplace of trippin’. ” It is, after all. I wrote the entire treatment for the script here on a 3-hour layover once. Mmmm, crackling fire and vodka – toasty goodness – what better way to stimulate one’s muse!
Thanks, Pops!
After hearing about Trippin, I finally got to see it. “WOW! Whatta movie,” I shouted, wondering what Devi’s father would think of it. Then, in a flash, it came to me that I am her father and I think it’s great! Makes a fellow proud to be the Deviant Dad!
