trippin’ Goes Public!

trippingroup smKenny and I head out to trippin’s world premiere tomorrow.  Lindsay (Holly) will fly out from Ohio, and Catherine and Circus are driving out early Saturday morn.  Last I heard Jake (Jeremy) was looking into flights as well.  What a fun adventure!  I’ll also see fest buddy Don Gerron, whom I met years ago at this whacked out fest in Wisconsin after his buddy had lost his shoes at a party and we went on a quest through the snow to find him some.  Reunions all around.

Trippinfest smEarlier on the phone Lindsay was recalling the excitement we all felt at the callbacks, at the beginning of all this, not sure what was ahead, but thrilled to find out.  This moment seemed so far off back then (and, thanks to a year plus break during which we made Death in Charge, it’s certainly come a bit later than expected for sure.)  But now that we’re here, it feels very satisfying and right.  I certainly would not be where I am now without having been there then.  I hope the rest of you feel better for the experience as well.

truck cornfield shoot smI want to congratulate our entire cast and crew for making a super fun, original and dare I say “sweet” film as my friend Steph called it.  Dabnammit, she’s right.  We try to be all gross and disturbing, but at the end of the day, I think the fun we have on set spills onto the screen, turning what should, for all intents and purposes be super dark, into something far more lighthearted and, well, yeah maybe even a bit ’sweet’ and ’sentimental.’  So sue us.

kitchen chaos smThe family of friends portrayed on screen became a family of friends in real life.  We really went through something difficult, wonderful, inspiring together.  For most of us, it was our first feature and they say you never forget your first.  I know I’ll never forget mine.  Sure, it hurt at times, but Man, has this ever been a fun journey.

Congrats again, Team!  We did it, we became better for it and we had fun doing it.  And now we get to share it.  Enjoy!

audreygore smFor those who can’t make it out, rest assured we’ll be sure to share all the sweet gory details…

Marvelous, thanks for sharing this info. Looks great on my iPhone, but on the Blackberry Pearl’s browser your site comes out a little flaky.

Congratulations to everyone!!! I wish I could be there with you, but I will be close to your neck of the woods soon. I can’t begin to tell you what an awesome experience working on this film was. To say that I was thrown into the fire on this project would be an understatement, given that I was asked to be script supervisor about 2 weeks before filming began. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for the world. There were so many amazing moments on the set that it’s nearly impossible to remember each one. My favorite part I think was when we were ready to start filming late one evening and had to hault production for a bout 20 minutes because a pack of coyotes were going crazy off in the distance. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. When do we start filming the sequel?
