Bride of Frankie 2Please join our team at Deviant Pictures in bringing to life our most ambitious project to date – there will be dancing, there will be romance, there will be tax write-offs!

BRIDE OF FRANKIE is our loving homage to Mary Shelley’s literary masterpiece and James Whale’s iconic film, with an all new feminist twist Tina Blk(and our very first homunculus!)

But we need your support – every donation counts.  $5 will pay for a meal for a cast or crew member, $5,000 will land us a star.  All eligible donations are tax deductible thanks to our fiscal sponsorship by the L.A. FILMMAKER’S ALLIANCE and all donors are entitled to a signed DVD copy of the completed film.

Live from Comic-Con & Distribution!

comic-con 2011 post screening drinksWow!  This may just be our best Comic-Con ever.  It’s our fourth time to screen here and, admittedly, I came with mixed feelings.  It’s such a madhouse and I have so much work piling up (not to mention pending jury duty next week – d’oh!).  I wasn’t sure it was the best choice to come, but that changed the moment we arrived. Despite the hundred thousand+ people, it seemed every time I turned around, I ran into an old friend.  Old connections were renewed and new connections felt like old friends in an instant.  Oh, right – THIS is the magic of Comic-Con.  DOLORES enjoyed her best screening yet Friday night.  The most enthusiastic applause erupted on the last frame of the film and Q&A was too fun.  Such great response from the crowd and we had lines of folks wanting to talk to us after.  People were shocked by our budget, convinced it was far higher.  We promoted filmmaking in the Midwest with heartfelt pride. festgang smI remember the first words Michael Hein ever spoke to me as I arrived to claim my filmmaker badge, “Oh, you’re a girl.  I always thought you were a guy.”  It was the first time we’d made the New York City Horror Film Festival’s selective cut with our short film RAVEN GETS A LIFE and it felt like a true rite of passage being there.  No more was ever said of my gender.  Michael praised our film and made sure I felt welcome.  He was the consummate host and drew the most wonderful crowds to his impressive eventRead the rest of this entry »
