Shriekfest!

denisemarkbendeviI’ve been coming to Shriekfest for years.  Run by Denise Gossett, who is very possibly the sweetest woman to ever roam the earth, this has long been one of my fave fests.

Though once again, it’s Death in Charge that’s playing this one, we’re spending more time promoting trippin’ and off to a great start.  I’ve been hanging with a wonderful new friend who happens to be a distributor here on business.  I apparently have him “intrigued” with my pitch for our movie and will hand off a copy today.  In all honesty, we’re in no major hurry to land a distribution deal.  We want to give our film a life first, but it will be great to get a professional opinion on just exactly what movie it is we’ve made and how it might fit into today’s market.

shriekheidideviShriekElissaDeviIan Strandberg and I also both did interviews for American Horrors, this European TV show all about horror and, naturally, plugged trippin’ up the wazoo.  Hart D. Fisher, the host (who I’ll highlight in the near future) is a doll and, though I don’t usually like being on TV, this was a particularly fun and playful interview (though I seriously hope the D.P. didn’t get a total shot up my skirt as I sort of suspect.  Won’t Mum be pleased…)

I met a bunch of other directors whose films I’ve seen over the past year whom we’ll be sure to profile on our friends of trippin’ section (coming soon) and it’s always fun to see some of the always zany, fun usual suspects who also attend the monthly Shriekfest networking gatherings (last Tuesday of every month at Hollywood Billiards.)

I’ll post the full account by weekend’s end.  In the meantime, there are films and parties to attend.  Ta!
