We’ve just put our feature film debut officially “in the can.” Yes, we have an actual can (see right) – thanks to propsmith Hardy Canard. We’re all about pomp and circumstance here at Deviant Pictures.
It’s been just over 3 years since we wrapped on principal shooting for trippin’. It never would have taken this long only we had to put it on hold for a year when I got invited to participate in AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women, during which I directed our latest short Death in Charge , but it’s not like I’m complaining. It was an invaluable experience and the time away gave us some much needed perspective.
With trippin’ we enter a whole new realm for us. Features are a totally different head…totally (retro pop culture reference) – so we really have no idea what to expect. Will we drown in this over-flooded market? Only time will tell, but I can say in all sincerity we’ve made a film that is wacky, wild and a trippin’ good time (hell, there’s even a puppet in it – everybody loves a cute, cuddly puppet, right?)
