Congrats, Team!  Both Death in Charge and trippin’ will screen at the Traildance Film Festival in January!  I’m so bummed to have to miss this one – I’ve heard great things from numerous friends who’ve participated and we had a total blast in nearby Tulsa at the Oklahoma Horror Festival a couple months back (about which I SWEAR I’m finally gonna blog this week, but not just yet.  It’s midterms and somebody has some serious grading to attend to alas.)  Until then, cheerio!

Words can’t describe the wonderfulness of returning to the Bram Stoker Int’l Film Fest (at least not in my current jet-lagged state – I shall make a proper attempt with loads of photos in the coming days.)  I can’t thank the wonderful programmers, participants and people of Whitby enough for another experience of a lifetime.  And to top it all off, trippin’ won Best Screenplay!  My dear friends Lis and Brenda Fies won Best International Feature!   (and fest buddy Kody Zimmerman won best short film – congrats!)  It was a truly magical time.  Alas, however, the new semester begins tomorrow and I have classes to prep now, but a full detailed account is forthcoming, I swear…

Congrats, Team!  trippin’ is to screen in a most wonderful place.  The very Lovecraftesque small British fishing town of Whitby where the fabulous Bram Stoker Fest happens!  I am very pleased about this one as I went last year and had a blast.  The festival is well run with great projection, a beautiful venue, super cool people, an outrageous opening night party with eye candy galore, and a wonderful mix of very eclectic horror films ranging from innovative micro-budgets to slick Asian horror films not yet released in the U.S. (like The Fox Family – keep an eye out for it).  We even participated in the first Vampire Walk up to the famous old Abbey which was the true inspiration for Dracula’s castle (okay, so  it was during the day, but fortunately nobody sparkled.)  It’s truly like entering a dark fairy tale.  Oh, and the fish and chips – wow! Anyway, looks like several of the team will be heading over so join us those who can.  For an account of last year’s adventures, you can find them beginning HERE.  Congrats, Team and thanks, wonderful folks at the Bram Stoker Fest – you rock and we can’t wait to come back for more!

Congrats, Team!  trippin’ just got into its 10th festival.  We’ll be screening at the Toronto Independent Film Festival next month!  Do let me know at once if any of you can make it out.  Sadly, our producer and I cannot attend (albeit for very fun reasons to be shared shortly).  But if any team members can make the trek out, it should be a good time.  Toronto rocks.  Congrats!

Life’s been happening far faster than I can write of late and tomorrow I head back out on the road.  But here’s a quick update for those wondering what’s up at Deviant Headquarters.  Dolores is nearing its first cut, trippin’s been getting a lot of attention from distributors, I just did my first national radio talk show, and Death’s playing in San Francisco this weekend. 

Yes, for those in the Bay Area, we’d love to see you at A Nightmare to Remember on June 26 from 7-10 pm at the Opera Plaza Theater (one of my old stomping grounds – sweet!)  Also, please support new hip AM talk radio show Making it With Guil and Alesha.  They invited me to be a guest last night along with model Jeri Lee, and we had a blast discussing life, art and other fun topics.   I even got to do some q&a with outside callers – a first for me.  How fun! Thanks to these delightful hosts who also run the fabulous Shockfest Film Fest I blogged about back in November – truly awesome fest, truly awesome artists!

Finally, the Cannes experience has led to interesting new developments with distributors.  We’re getting quite the education as we’re currently in talks with 8 interested parties thus far.  We shall see…

In the meantime, we’re most excited to see the progress on Dolores, as our fab editor informs me we might have our first cut by this weekend!  Yay!

Now, it’s time to pack the overnight case – San Francisco, here we come!
